New Zealand Café of the Year

NZ Café of the Year is back!

Proudly supported by:
Wattie's Meadow Fresh Renault Dish

It’s so much more than just a café competition – it’s a celebration of our unique Kiwi café culture. From trendy to traditional, from rural to retro, Kiwis love their cafés … and everyone has a favourite!

To find the 2016 NZ Café of the Year winner, we are drawing up a shortlist of cafés for judging from the following new categories. All you have to do to enter is to register and tell us why your customers love you.

Best Metro/CBD
For cafés located in cities and business districts.

Best Rural
For cafés set within small NZ towns and rural locations.

Best Suburban
For cafés serving local communities or suburbs.

Classic Kiwi
For cafés with a traditional approach to food, with an emphasis on counter food and quick turnaround.

The Restaurant Association of New Zealand have assembled a panel of industry experts to judge the competition. Kerry Tyack heads the team that will review the entries, draw up a shortlist and visit finalists, and decide who will be the winners.

We are also giving café lovers the chance to vote for their favourite café, win prizes and find the 2016 People’s Choice winner.
